General trends
More states to recognize bitcoin
Crypto users will double this year <700 million people
More and more merchants will accept cryptos as a payment method
Employment in the crypto-currency sector will increase
Traditional banks will start offering crypto products to their customers.
Bitcoin mining from renewable energy will grow in Africa and South America.
Regulations will be more frequent and always done by incompetent people.
L1, L2 & ZK
Ethereum will not flip BTC
BSC adoption will continue
ATOM is the new ETH from a builder perspective
AVAX and Matic will do well
Solana will survive
Arbitrum and Optimism will gain popularity while ZK-Rollups will not be ready
Cardano will still be bad and people will continue to think otherwise.
DeFi
New stablecoins will emerge and redistribute the market share of USDT, USDC and BUSD. My favorite? crvUSD
Real world assets will come on the blockchain and offer real returns to investors.
KYC and decentralized identity will rise
Derivatives and perpetuals will expand
Liquid staking will flourish and will be frequently used as collateral
It will be safer to bridge assets from one chain to another (Not sure about this).
CEX will offer more and more DeFi products
Overrated
Crypto games are overvalued and nothing will stand out this year
No metaverse will be better than World of Warcraft + Teamspeak
NFTs will remain bad assets but will have more and more uses and utilities
DAOs will collapse or fall under authoritarian regimes
Bitcoin mining on fossil energy will disappear
Privacy apps will multiply and people still won’t use them
